Purpose
The purpose of our music ministry is to 1) help Christians praise
God, 2) witness to unbelievers, and 3) prepare hearts for the preaching of God's Word.
Outreach
Our choir sings at the Newport Baptist Home.
Special Programs
Each year, the choir performs a Christmas cantata and Easter cantata.

Music Director
Bob Turner has been the HABT music director since 1990.
Although not his fulltime job, he knows that this is where God has called Him to serve. His experience comes from school
bands, singing groups, and over 30 years of singing in church choirs.
Musicians
Our church is blessed with two wonderful musicians. Patty
Wilson has been the church organist for nearly 40 years. Melissa Hobbs has been the church pianist since 1999.
Choir
The choir is a set up in the traditional soprano, alto, tenor,
bass arrangement. We have 25 members in our choir all of which volunteer their time for practice and performance each
week.
Children's Choir
Our children's choir typically performs during a morning service
once every two or three months. This happens to be the church's favorite group!
